Ottawa Tourism invited an assortment of media types to share their latest campaign, Ottawa’s Own. Ottawa’s oldest running theater, the Mayfair, was the perfect locale to screen the premiere of Ottawa Tourism’s latest campaign video. Settling in, not knowing what to expect, and enjoying a Canadiana assortment of appetizers, we enjoyed video after video showcasing some of Ottawa’s citizens who are following their passion and making Ottawa a desirable city to live in and visit.
You can check out the videos on the Ottawa’s Own new website.
Seeing the stories of six Ottawans who are following their passion and how Ottawa inspires them reminds me what a vibrant little big city we live in. There are so many local artisans, foodies, designers and more waiting to share their passion with you. Here are a few highlighted during our evening with Ottawa Tourism. These Ottawans are making it easy to be proud of our city.
Come visit and meet the people who make up the DNA of Ottawa!
“I always knew my life wasn’t meant to be spent behind a desk, I needed something more tactile where I could use my hands. I’ve been using the Ottawa City Woodshop to make my eye-catching paddles.”
Or just Szeto as he prefers. Szeto discovered building and creating was what he wanted to do instead of being in a cubicle like so many of the government jobs available. Szeto took it a step further and incorporated his other passion… skateboarding! Being a part of a paddling family, I can truly appreciate the beauty of Szeto’s work. What an amazing young man… and proud Ottawan!
Ottawa’s Own is looking for submissions for more Ottawans to share their passion for Ottawa!
