Since the end of August, I have been trying to get moving a bit more. An ambulance ride to the hospital because of severe back pain was all I needed to remind me to take better care of myself. I am concentrating on eating better, sleeping, chiropractor visits and MOVING more. I am hoping to head to the pool soon to do some laps but in the meantime, I am doing some Yoga and light exercises at home. I needed some new equipment to help make me comfortable when moving!
GAIAM Ultra-Grip Headband: This headband is a one size fits all and has proven troublesome in my home. Miss T has stolen it to use during her hockey practices. It stays put under her goalie mask and wicks away moisture keeping her eyes clear to for amazing saves! I later found my new headband in Miss G’s paddling bag. Sigh. Miss G loves the color and says it stays put and keeps those stray hairs out of her face while kayaking. Thankfully, the headbands are at a great price point so everyone gets one!
GAIAM Breathable Yoga Bag: This bag has breathable mesh so your gear can air out and dry. There is also a Velcro pocket on the outside to hold some of your essentials. The bag also has a zippered pocket on the inside perfect for keys or bank card. The bag is sturdy and can hold many different sized Yoga mats. The Yoga bag also has an adjustable carrying strap and a loop (to hang) allowing your gear to dry thoroughly.
GAIAM Yoga Mat: It is amazing the difference 1 mm of Yoga mat can make. I am enjoying this 4 mm mat! It is great for doing my back exercises my chiropractor recommends, Yoga and workout DVDs. It is free from Free of DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, and DNOP phthalates. Oh, and it is super cute with a paisley type pattern.
Jillian Michaels 10 Minute Body DVD: The DVD consists of five, 10-minute workouts, Jillian aims to transform your body with a variety of short, yet highly efficient workout programs. The 5 10-minute workouts are Pilates Power, Cardio Burn, Booty Boot Camp, Calisthenics, and Kickbox Blast. My favourite is the Cardio Burn. I am finding that the 10-minute workouts are just the right length for my beginner status and it is easy to modify.
