Winter is a special time of year where everything seems magical- and having “magical” daddy-
daughter date nights are easy to accomplish even in the winter. Check out these great ideas to help you
and your princess have a memorable winter when just the two of you are spending time together.
Get all dressed up and go out to a fancy dinner
Baby, it’s cold outside! But dinner at a nice restaurant is always a great way to warm the body, soul, and
heart. Take your princess out to a nice dinner- complete with you dressing up in a suit and tie as she
dons her best dress.
Tip: Buy her flowers, hold the door open for her, and pull out her chair. Show her how a nice dinner
date is supposed to go with a gentleman. You set the example for the type of man she will date, after
all, so make sure you set the best one possible!
Go to a Christmas Workshop
Every winter the local mall, churches, the schools, day cares, and even chain stores offer workshops-
and Santa even visits! Take your child to help her make a special gift for someone, then take her to see
Santa (even if she’s too old to believe- it’s still a nice gesture). The two of you can make the
grandparents or mom a special ornament to hang on the tree, or make a keepsake gift for one another.
Tip: afterward, take her to buy the wrapping paper, ribbons, and bows of her choice and help her wrap
it! Even if mom is better at making presents beautiful, the memories and laughs will be well worth
doing it all on your own.
Go dancing in the snow
If you live where it snows, get bundled up, go for a walk, bring along hot chocolate and a radio, and
take her dancing. Make snow angels and dance some more. Have her show off her latest dance moves
and teach her a few of your own. If it doesn’t snow where you are, you can do the same thing without
the snow, minus the snow angels, of course. You can even go on a picnic or a long walk in the cool air.
Tip: bring blankets! You can wrap up in the blanket and dance together, or just sit and sip hot cocoa
while you talk and listen to good music. Let her listen to things she enjoys, and teach her about the
music you like, too.
Tip: Bring the camera! This will make for some amazing photos.
