True sign that the long hot days of summer are numbered. The small town Ontario Fair.
I am feeling a little sad and excited today as I organize the kids back to school items. Starting to realize that it is time to say good bye to the summer of 2012. We had a fantastic summer and I for one do not want it to end.
I read somewhere that we should do as much as we can every summer with our kids while they are home. There are not many left before they head off into the world as adults. Putting a number on how many summers I have left with my daughters as children puts it into perspective.
8. I have 8 summers left with my oldest daughter before she treks off to University. I have 13 summers left with my youngest before she is in University. Ahhhh!
I love that they are growing up don’t get me wrong. But this kind of thinking gets me to the beach when I don’t really feel like going. Or I will say yes to that ice cream cone. Also will get me to go to the fair, pay too much for prizes and rides!!
Next summer I am doing a family bucket list. I have seen a lot of bloggers doing these with their families. I am also going to do a winters bucket list (coming soon). I, for one, want to cram as much fun experiences and memories into every day I have left with my kids as children….. before they are adults.
Did you have a bucket list for the summer? Did you get all the items crossed off? I hope you did!
